Much like the original, the game is a randomly developed action RPG with rogue-like elements, however with Rebirth the art (as well as the entire game) has been revamped and remake with a pixel art 16-bit style in mind. It was designed by Edmund McMillen and produced and developed by Nicalis for Steam, PS4 and Playstation Vita, with possibilities of future Nintendo and Xbox console ports.
